What We've Been Building
We've been heads down building. 2025 was a rough year for us, but we've learned from it. We focused on rebuilding customer support, tech support, operations, and released new product for 2026.
Last year we launched the LCS (Lift Connect System), a new architecture for all our eFoils. It's more than just quick setup and convenience. It lets you completely customize your eFoil, meaning that as you develop as a rider, you can swap out components on your setup. It also means you can buy the eFoil you need now and not have to buy an entirely new one when you improve as a rider.
This is the first full year of that platform doing its job. New propulsion, new wings, new batteries. All of it built to the same connection, all of it shipped and in the water this year. Here's the run of it, part by part, and what each one changes once you're riding. It all lives on our what's new page as well.
The Lift Hand Controller, redesigned
Your hand is on the controller the whole session, so we started there. The Lift Hand Controller is rebuilt from the body out. The first thing you feel is that the lag is gone. There's no gap now between the trigger and the ebox response, so the throttle reads the moment you ask for it. The new body carries a sunlight-readable display, GPS, and haptic feedback, which means you can check your speed and your session on the water instead of cupping a hand over the screen to make anything out.
Battery developments for 2026
Weight is one of the most important components of eFoiling. Traditionally, eFoils have been heavy, but LIFTX and the LIFTX Light Battery specifically are helping us move toward an entirely different eFoil under 40 lbs, and it's not just for LIFTX. With the LIFTX Battery Adapter and a LIFTX Battery, you can shed weight off your entire setup. The LIFTX Battery is already light at 16.8 lbs, but we were able to drop that by 4.4 lbs with the LIFTX Light Battery at 12.4 lbs.
This is the direction we're moving. It's about getting closer to foiling while having the power of an eFoil. Lift's ecosystem is building toward tuning your ride down into the setup that's right for you, not just an industry standard.
Propulsion units, totally interchangeable
Our propulsion units are at the heart of what makes the LCS (Lift Connect System) such a differentiator.
LCS is the marketing spin on what makes our system so customizable. From propellers, jets, batteries, wings, and the propulsion unit (the mast with the motor), we're building our eFoils with the ability to find your own upgrade path. Whether you're starting out in eFoiling and price is a barrier, or performance is what you're hunting, LCS allows you to start with the board you need and build the setup that fits the session. It's a way to get into eFoiling without having to buy an entirely new eFoil each time something changes.
This year we introduced another 55mm propulsion unit with our 33" LCS Carbon Ultra-High Mount. The motor sits 7" below the board. The propulsion clears the water earlier than our 32" high mount, giving you more clearance on foil. We now have three 55mm propulsions and our 32" 68mm propulsion that comes stock on all LIFT5 boards with the LCS Jet.
We've also redesigned our folding propellers and released two blade geometries with the Glide and Power folding propellers.
The LCS Folding Glide Propeller is tuned for glide. It holds speed through the quiet parts of a run and folds flat the moment you cut power. The LCS Folding Power Propeller came out of the same redesign but runs wider blades that put down more thrust, and it still collapses clean for off-power foiling so nothing drags when you're riding unpowered. Run the Glide when you want to hold speed, the Power when you want more off the line.
Vario Wings
The bigger wing news this year is the Vario series. What sets it apart is the Vario Twist geometry. On a standard high-aspect wing, the tips tend to release as you load up a turn, and you trade some of the carve to keep the glide. The Vario Twist moves the center of lift in toward the middle of the wing, so the tips stay planted as the load builds through a bank. The turn holds where a high-aspect wing that size would give it up. One wing covers more ground for it, from surf carving through to downwind glide.
It comes in four front-wing sizes, and the span and aspect ratio tell you where each one sits.
90 Vario Front Wing is the fast one. 32" span, AR 11.4. It moves quick and asks for a rider who can hold it in its range, so it's the pick if you've got the experience to access it.
120 Vario Front Wing steps down in size and up in float. 35" span, AR 10.2. The right place to start if the 90 sounds like more than you want yet.
150 Vario Front Wing brings the most popular size in the Havoc lineup onto the Vario platform. 39" span, AR 10.1. Good speed, good float, and more rail-to-rail than the Havoc-X gave you. This one runs on LCS, so the full setup connects in seconds with no hardware.
180 Vario Front Wing is the largest. 42" span, AR 9.8. It generates lift early and holds it, built for heavier riders and anyone stepping into high-aspect foiling.
Grubb wings
The Grubb wings are after something more specific. Two of them shipped this year, tuned for feel in the surf and behind the boat rather than the all-round range the Vario line is built for.
The Grubb 150 Front Wing is built on the 150 Surf V2, one of our most popular wings, with an updated design on top of it. Behind the boat it has a smooth, fluid feel, which is what makes it a strong pick for wake.
The Grubb 16 Back Wing pairs a shorter fuselage than the 20 carve with a similar span. That combination is what gives the stabilizer its quick, loose ride.
