Which eFoil, board, wing, or mast should I choose?
Not sure which setup fits you? Take the eFoil Match quiz, a 60-second questionnaire that points you to a recommendation.
Prefer to talk it through? Ask an Expert and our team will walk you through it directly. You can also compare specs side-by-side on each product page.
Where can I find manuals, setup instructions, or specs?
All manuals, setup instructions, and specs live in our Help Center under Guides & How-To and Manuals & Installation. For a visual walkthrough, see the full Setup Series (Videos #1–7) and the "LIFT5 / LIFTX Beginner Guide: Setup, Safety & Unboxing" in our Video Library.
How much maintenance does a Lift eFoil require?
Very little. Components and cables are triple-sealed against moisture and built from corrosion-resistant materials. After each ride, rinse with fresh water and store out of direct sun. Inspect your board periodically for damage, and apply reelX to all the connectors to keep them from corroding.
How do I order replacement parts or accessories?
Shop replacement parts and accessories directly on our Accessories & Parts page.
Not sure which part you need? Submit a request with your board or battery serial number and we'll help you find the right one.
Will this part, battery, board, or wing fit my setup?
Ask an Expert. Our team can confirm compatibility with your specific model before you buy.
Do eFoils need to be registered?
It depends on where you ride. In 2022, the U.S. Coast Guard classified eFoils and motorized jetboards as vessels under federal law, which gives states authority to regulate them like powered watercraft. Many U.S. states, including Florida, Texas, California, and Hawaii, require registration, a Hull Identification Number (HIN), and in some cases a boating safety certificate or PFD requirements. Outside the U.S., rules vary by country and sometimes by specific waterway.
Because requirements differ by state and country, check with your local boating or marine safety authority before your first ride. If you're unsure where to start, Ask an Expert and we'll point you toward the right resource.
How do I access my account or reset my login details?
Go to account.liftfoils.com and enter your email. You'll get a one-time code by email to log in, no password needed. Didn't get the code? Submit a case.
Orders & Shipping
Where is my order/has it shipped/what's my tracking info?
Check your order status and tracking info anytime in your account order history or on our support site for updates. If something looks off, submit a case with your order number and we'll get you an update.
Do you ship internationally? What about customs, duties, or VAT?
We ship to select international destinations. Customs duties, taxes, and import fees are the recipient's responsibility and are assessed on delivery. International delivery typically takes 7–21 business days depending on destination and customs processing, and delays from customs aren't within our control.
Can I get an invoice, receipt, or order confirmation?
Yes. Pull it directly from your account order history, or submit a request with your order number and we'll resend it.
My item arrived damaged, incomplete, or missing parts. What do I do?
Submit a case within 7 days of the expected delivery date. Keep the original packaging and include photos of the damage. All sales are final, but we evaluate every damaged, defective, or incorrect item and make it right.
Can I change my order? Add, remove, or swap items?
Act fast: in-stock orders typically begin processing within 1–3 business days, after which changes usually aren't possible. Submit a request as soon as you can. Once an order has shipped, it can't be modified, though you may be able to request a return per our refund policy.
Can I change or correct my shipping address?
We kindly ask that you double-check your address at checkout. We're not responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect address provided at checkout. If you catch an error before the order ships, submit a request immediately and we'll do our best to correct it.
What's the status or ETA on my battery order specifically?
Same process as any order. Check your order on our support site.
Can I cancel, return, or get a refund?
All sales are final, but if an item is defective, damaged, or the wrong item arrives, we'll evaluate it and make it right. Submit a case. For pre-orders specifically: you can cancel before it's fulfilled; once fulfilled, it can't be cancelled, but you can request a full or partial refund.
Stock, Pricing & Purchasing
Is this product in stock, backordered, or available? And what's the price?
Our Store is always kept current on availability, inventory, and pricing. Check there first for the most accurate information.
Still have questions? Submit a request.
Do you offer discounts, promo codes, or dealer/wholesale pricing?
We don't run frequent site-wide discounts, but keep an eye out. We do drop a sale here and there. Our pricing reflects the quality and performance built into every Lift product. Interested in becoming a dealer or wholesale partner? Apply here, and once approved, a sales rep will discuss pricing with you directly.
Where can I buy, demo, or talk to a dealer or sales rep?
Find a dealer, demo, or sales rep near you with our Dealer Locator. We have 300+ demo locations worldwide through our "Fly Before You Buy" program. Check upcoming demo days too.
Why isn't checkout, payment, or financing working?
Double-check that your name, billing address, and card details exactly match what your bank has on file. Mismatches are the most common reason a payment gets declined. Still stuck? Call us at (888) 333-3045 and we'll work through it with you.
Do you offer trade-in, upgrade, or retrofit options?
We don't currently offer a formal trade-in or upgrade program. If you're wondering what accessories or battery options work with your existing eFoil, Ask an Expert and we'll help you find what's compatible.
Battery & Charging
How long do eFoil batteries last?
Ride time depends on your board. The LIFT5 and LIFT5 F both run a 2.2kWh battery paired with a 68mm motor, delivering up to 90 minutes of ride time per charge. The LIFTX uses a more compact 1kWh battery and 55mm motor, built for a lighter, more agile ride; it delivers up to 45 minutes per charge. Real-world runtime depends on how you ride, too: new riders typically see less because learning involves more stops, starts, and relaunches. Rider weight, water conditions, and speed all factor in as well. Want longer sessions? A spare battery makes back-to-back rides easy. Shop batteries and accessories here.
How do I charge my Lift eFoil battery?
Use only the Lift charger that came with your board. Third-party chargers can damage the battery or void your warranty. A full charge typically takes just over an hour to reach 80%. Between sessions, store your battery at 30–50% charge rather than fully charged or fully drained, and keep your firmware current (Lift App → My Gear → select your battery → Update). For a visual guide, watch "How to Read the LEDs on Your Lift Battery" in the Batteries & Charging section of our Video Library.
How do I troubleshoot battery charging, lights, or fault codes?
Safety first: if you notice smoke, vapor, unusual sounds (clicking, hissing, popping), burning smells, or your battery feels hot while idle or charging, stop using it immediately, power down, and move it to a well-ventilated, fire-safe area (outdoors if possible). Then submit a case right away.
Separately, if your battery shows red or no LEDs, or has visible cracks or seal damage, stop use and contact support the same way. For routine issues, see "How to Reset Your Lift eFoil Battery" in the Batteries & Charging section and "How to Troubleshoot the 'E029' Code on Your Lift Battery Charger" in the Troubleshooting section of our Video Library.
What happens if I run low on battery while riding?
Your hand controller automatically throttles you back to a low-power setting so you can return to shore safely.
How do I ship, travel with, or store my eFoil battery safely?
Lift batteries are lithium-ion and subject to airline and shipping restrictions, so they generally can't fly as checked or carry-on luggage without special handling. For travel and storage guidance, submit a case and our team will send you the relevant safety documentation for your battery model.
Warranty, Repairs & Troubleshooting
Does the eFoil have a warranty, and what does it cover?
Yes. All LIFT5, LIFT5 F, and LIFTX purchases include a 1-year limited warranty for personal use (90 days if used commercially), covering defects in material or workmanship under normal use. You're responsible for shipping costs on warranty claims. See our Warranty page for more details.
Want more coverage? The Lift Protection Plan, our extended warranty and accidental damage add-on powered by SureBright, is available within 30 days of your eFoil purchase.
How do I get warranty, repair, or RMA support?
The fastest way is to open a ticket in the Lift App's Customer Support section, submit a case, or call (888) 333-3045, Mon–Fri 8AM–6PM EST. Have your proof of purchase, order number, and product serial number ready. Watch "How to Create a Service Ticket in the Lift App" in the Hand Controller & App section of our Video Library.
What do I do about water intrusion, leaks, or a wet controller/board?
Power down immediately. Do not charge or plug in the device. Remove the battery if it's safely accessible, and dry all contacts and components. Submit a case describing what happened. See also "Battery Safety and Best Practices" and "Maintaining Your Data Connector" in our Video Library.
How do I update firmware or fix app/Bluetooth issues?
Firmware updates push through the Lift App: connect over Bluetooth and the app walks you through updating each component (My Gear → select your gear → Update). If Bluetooth won't connect or the app hangs: restart the app and the component, confirm Bluetooth is enabled, and update to the latest app version. Still stuck? Submit a case. Watch "How to Pair Your Lift eFoil to the Lift App & Perform a Software Update" in the Hand Controller & App section of our Video Library.
How do I fix a hand controller or remote pairing/trigger issue?
Restart the controller and board, then re-pair through the Lift App. Frozen screen? Follow "How to Fix a Frozen Screen on Your Lift Hand Controller." Getting temperature warnings? See "A Guide to the Temperature Warnings on Your Lift Hand Controller." Both are in our Video Library. Still stuck? Submit a case.
How do I troubleshoot board, eBox, or power/plug errors?
Start with our Video Library: "How to Clean the Electrical Contacts of Your Lift eFoil eBox," "Maintaining Your Data Connector," and "How to Flush an eFoil Motor Controller" cover the most common fixes. Still having issues? Submit a case with your board's serial number.
Riding & Safety
Who can use a Lift eFoil? And is there an age limit?
We recommend Lift eFoils for riders ages 16 and older. Weight range varies by board: most Lift boards support riders from roughly 100–250 lbs, with some models rated higher. Check the specs on each product page or use our eFoil Match quiz to find the right fit for your size and experience level.
How hard is it to ride an eFoil?
Most riders get up on their first session. If you've surfed, skateboarded, snowboarded, or foiled before, you'll pick it up quickly, but zero experience is totally fine too. Lift's system is built to be easy to learn at any level. Watch real first-ride footage on our YouTube channel or in our Video Library.
What safety features does the eFoil have?
The eFoil automatically cuts power when the hand controller touches water or the trigger is released, similar to an engine cut-off switch (ECOS) on a boat. Always ride with proper protective gear (impact vest, helmet where required) and review your local boating safety requirements before your first ride.
How does an eFoil work?
An eFoil is an electric-powered hydrofoil board: a battery-powered motor mounted on the mast propels you forward, and as you gain speed, the underwater wing generates lift, raising the board above the surface, the same way a plane's wing works in the air. You control speed and direction with a handheld wireless controller. For the full breakdown, see our blog “What Is an eFoil? And How Does it Work?”.
What should I bring or wear for my first ride?
Wear a swimsuit or wetsuit depending on water temperature, plus sun protection and any personal flotation device (PFD) or impact vest required in your area. Many riders also bring water shoes for launching from a beach or dock. Demoing or taking a lesson? Your local dealer typically provides safety gear. Find a demo location to confirm what's included.
