eFOILS FOR INTERMEDIATE RIDERS

Quicker turns, livelier boards, and room to keep progressing. Every board runs on LCS, so you upgrade parts instead of starting over.

Dial In Your Setup

If you can already plane and carve, you need less float and more feel. Stock boards run from 52L to 70L across the LIFT5 and LIFTX, and every board is built on the Lift Connect System, so you can swap wings or propulsion as your riding develops instead of trading up.

What riders are saying

  • “Started with a 5’4 Lift4 and have now graduated to a 4’8 LiftX and a 5’2 Laird Lift5. Take out the boards 2X a week into the ocean surf and completely hooked. So meditative, fun and a different challenge every day.”

  • “I ride mostly flat water, so my goals are a little different than someone chasing ocean swell. They took the time to understand my riding style. I was stoked with how much detail they put into helping me make the right decision.”

WHAT MAKES AN INTERMEDIATE
eFOIL DIFFERENT

  • Finer Balance, Narrower Deck

You can already plane, so you need less float. Stock boards run 52L to 70L: the 4'9 LIFT5 Sport, 5'2 Laird LIFT5, and 5'2 and 5'4 LIFTX. The 4'8 LIFTX is the upper limit.

  • More Clearance, 32" Carbon Mast

You spend less time on throttle, so you can choose how much power you carry. LIFT5 boards ship with the 68mm Jet and Gen5 battery. LIFTX boards ship with a 55mm motor, folding propeller and LIFTX Battery. Both run a 32" mast, 4" taller than the 28" beginner mast, which gives you more room to carve.

  • More Feel, Mid-Aspect Havoc Wings

Stability is already comfortable, so stock wings shift toward feel. The Laird LIFT5 and the 5'2 and 5'4 LIFTX ship with the 200 Havoc, the 4'8 LIFTX with the 150 Havoc, and the 4'9 Sport with the 210 Camber Pro. Havoc wings are mid-aspect.

FAQ

Who are intermediate eFoils for?

Riders who can already plane, so you need less float. Stock boards run from 52L to 70L across the 4'9 LIFT5 Sport, the 5'2 Laird LIFT5, and the 5'2 and 5'4 LIFTX. They’re built to grow with you, so you can swap wings or propulsion as your riding develops instead of buying a new board.

How are intermediate eFoils different from beginner ones?

You need less float, so stock volumes drop to 52L to 70L. You spend less time on throttle, so these boards run a 32" carbon mast for more room to carve. Stability is already comfortable, so stock wings shift toward feel, like the 200 Havoc on the Laird LIFT5 and the 5'2 and 5'4 LIFTX.

What comes with an intermediate eFoil setup?

Setup varies by model. LIFT5 boards ship with the 68mm Jet and Gen5 battery. LIFTX boards ship with a 55mm motor, folding propeller and LIFTX Battery. Both run a 32" carbon mast. Check each product page for exact specs.

What size or weight rider is this collection built for?

Maximum rider weight runs from 185 lbs on the 4'8 LIFTX to 220 lbs on the LIFT5 Sport, Laird LIFT5 and 5'4 LIFTX. Lighter riders find LIFTX easier than heavier riders (185 lbs and up), mainly due to buoyancy and stability. Use the eFoil Match quiz to confirm fit.

Should I demo a board before buying at this level?

It’s a good idea, especially if you’re deciding between the LIFT5 and LIFTX. Find a demo location to feel the difference before you commit.

Can I upgrade my intermediate eFoil later instead of buying a new board?

Yes. These boards run on the Lift Connect System, so you can swap propulsion units on the eBox when you’re ready for more height and change wings as your preferences shift, instead of buying a new board.

How do I choose between the LIFT5 and the LIFTX?

The LIFT5 is our flagship, with every upgrade built in, whether you’re after long cruise sessions or pushing your limits in speed and performance. The LIFTX is for riders looking to push more into foiling. It excels with swell (ground or wind) or wakes and can still cruise flat water. Take the eFoil Match quiz for a personalized recommendation.
