Board
The 8’2 Flying Cat is built on a catamaran-inspired hull that adds stability during the paddle-up. The twin-entry front section helps the board stay level when the water is uneven, giving you more control as you build speed.
 
This hull transitions into a faceted displacement tail, which provides clean water release once the board reaches takeoff speed. That makes it easier on the foil to engage with out the board dragging in the water.
 
The 8’2 carries more width and volume than smaller downwind boards, which gives riders a steadier platform to paddle hard and build speed.
 
Front Wing
The Florence 130 X front wing adds a smooth, forgiving lift with enough efficiency to stay flying when the energy drops. It carries speed without sudden surges and stays stable as you move across bumps.
 
Back Wing
The Florence 20 X back wing keeps the foil settled, keeps the pitch predictable and helps the foil stay composed as conditions change.
 
Mast
The 30” M6 mast adds clearance for steeper bumps while staying short enough for tight control and turns. 
 
Together, this kit gives riders a stable platform during acceleration, a clean lift, and consistent glide across everyday downwind conditions.
 
Ride Feel
 
The setup feels stable underfoot during paddle-up, giving you a slightly larger platform to load each stroke. The catamaran-inspired hull provides a faster lift-off and clean release. Paired with the Florence 130 X, 20 X, and M6 mast, the foil engages quickly and settles into a stable and predictable glide with enough clearance for steeper bumps.
