The co-founder of Lift, Nick Leason, came up with the concept for the first efoil board, which would take technological elements from electric vehicles and smartphones and put them into a surfboard. As an avid surfer and engineer, he wanted a board that didn’t need the wind or waves to give the premier surfing experience.

He came up with the original concept in 2013 and has come through on his vision. A surfboard that can work on any body of water and doesn’t need the waves to work.
