⚠️IMPORTANT: Before you begin, check to make sure you have the correct Blowfish kit for the size of your eFoil. The eFoil size is displayed on a tag near the top handle of your storage backpack, as well as on the box it shipped with.
The Lift Blowfish is quick and easy to assemble, and requires no additional tools.
Unfold Blowfish with the bottom panel facing down and check to make sure you have all components ready for your Blowfish installation:
⚠️ WARNING: Before you begin, it is critical all eFoil equipment is turned off and the battery is disconnected before working with or around the motor or propellers.
If your eFoil is already assembled, stand it upright with the nose of your board and nose of the front wing down on the ground:
If your eFoil is not yet assembled, lay your board on a clean, flat surface and install Blowfish before you install the mast and other components.
PRO TIP: For beach setups on a fully assembled eFoil, try Damo's quick installation technique.
Locate the air valve on Blowfish and remove the valve cap by rotating counterclockwise.
Set the valve pin to the UP position by pressing the pin and turning the dial around the pin counter-clockwise.
With the valve pin in the UP position, connect the hose to the air pump, insert the hose into the valve and twist clockwise to secure, and begin to manually inflate Blowfish until it begins to take shape. Do not fully inflate Blowfish at this time.
Once partially inflated, disconnect the air pump hose by rotating counterclockwise and pulling the hose out of the valve. The valve pin should close automatically. Inspect Blowfish to ensure it is clear of sand and debris. Blowfish tightly secures to your board, and debris may cause damage to your board if not properly cleared.
Next, slide the nose of your board into the neoprene nose cover of Blowfish. As you insert your board, make sure the handle attachment straps and air valve remain accessible by pulling them away from your board, towards the outer edges of the rails.
If needed, release some air to allow for more room to maneuver the rails.
Wrap the side rails of Blowfish around the sides of the board until the board is seated firmly inside the rails. Next, pull Blowfish handles towards the tail to ensure the board nose is inserted as far up into the neoprene nose cover as possible.
Once properly installed, your board will fill out the nose of Blowfish and the rails will extend slightly past the tail end of your board, as seen above.
If your eFoil is already assembled with the mast and wings attached, it may help to raise your board off the ground to slide the inflated rails on Blowfish into place.
With Blowfish properly in place, set the valve pin to the UP position (refer to the diagram in step 3 if needed), attach the pump, and inflate Blowfish to 7 PSI. The top of your pump features a built-in PSI gauge that you can use to determine the air pressure. While inflating, ensure the Blowfish rails are upright, wrapping around your board as they fill with air. The pressure should create a firm fit between Blowfish and your board.
Pass the handle-straps through the board handles as shown below, looping them back to secure onto themselves. Attach each of the four straps to your board handles, tightening each strap for a snug fit. Ensure the velcro is securely attached for each of the straps.
When attached properly, the straps should not block access to your hatch compartment, or obstruct your board handles.
Blowfish should now be fully installed. Inspect for a tight, snug fit at all connection points. If your board is not yet assembled, flip your board over with the bottom of Blowfish facing up and install the remaining components for your eFoil. And that’s it! Your Blowfish is ready for use. Enjoy!
Blowfish includes an optional mesh accessory that enables additional storage beneath the mesh, and features an extra storage compartment with a zipper. To install, first make sure Blowfish is fully assembled. Place the mesh accessory over the neoprene nose cover at the front of your board as shown below, with the logo tag facing up.
Feed the 5 elastic cord hooks through the nearest webbing attachment loops on the inside of the inflatable rails, and hook back onto the small loops at the base of the elastic cords to secure. If properly installed, the Mesh Storage Accessory should span over the neoprene nose cover, providing a storage area underneath and within the zipper compartment for items along for the ride.
When carrying the eFoil with Blowfish in and out the water, we recommend using the eFoil handles only. This gives you more control over your board during transportation, compared to using the handles on Blowfish. If possible, use assistance from a friend to get the Blowfish eFoil setup in the water.
Blowfish adds width, length, and buoyancy to the base eFoil. This increases stability on the water and accommodates a wider range of larger riders looking to foil.
When on foil and carving a turn, the outer material will tend to stick to the water if the side of the inflatable rail dips into the water surface. Adjust your riding style to compensate for riding with Blowfish to avoid instances where the inflatable rail may dip into the water while riding.
STEP 1
Prepare Blowfish for deflation by releasing the four board handle attachment straps. Next, remove the valve cap and press down on the valve to release the air pressure. Deflate the chambers until you can easily remove Blowfish from your board.
STEP 2
Slide deflated rails of Blowfish off the side of your board. Next, secure your board while pulling on the nose of Blowfish until it separates completely from the nose of your board.
STEP 3
Lay Blowfish on a clean, flat surface with the bottom panel facing down. Carefully flatten Blowfish as you continue to release additional air from the valve. For additional deflation with more force, use the deflation port on the air pump to remove any remaining air. Secure the valve cap back in place when finished.
STEP 4
Thoroughly rinse Blowfish with fresh water. Once completely dry, fold Blowfish and store it with the other components in the provided storage bag.
Thoroughly rinse Blowfish after each use with fresh water. A quick hose-down removes elements that may degrade the material. Removing salt, sand, dirt, and debris will also help to prevent staining.
Avoid dragging Blowfish over rough surfaces, like concrete or cement, as it can wear through the material and may cause damage.
Periodically scrub down the surfaces of Blowfish with mild soap and water to keep the material looking fresh and extend its life.
Limit direct sunlight when not in use. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause issues that shorten your equipment’s lifespan. When not in use, keep Blowfish in a shaded area, or if disassembled, in the provided storage backpack. Store Blowfish in an indoor location if possible.
Blowfish is designed to be folded or rolled for storage and transportation. However, fold or roll with care and avoid sharp bends, especially around components, like the valve, that are not intended to be folded.
Store Blowfish in a clean, dry, temperature-controlled space. It can be rolled or folded for storage, and can remain inflated during storage as long as it is in an environment with moderate temperature.
