What type of safety features exist in the eFoil?

The eFoil’s propulsion automatically stops when the trigger on the hand controller is released, when the hand controller touches the water surface, and/or when the board tilts past 45 degrees. The most important safety feature to note is the use of protective equipment and caution while using the product to avoid injury while riding.

How much maintenance does the Lift eFoil require?

Our components and cables are triple sealed from moisture and composed of high-quality corrosion resistant materials requiring little to no maintenance. 

As with any investment, be sure to treat your eFoil with care and respect by routinely inspecting your board, mast, and wings for wear or damage. Make it a habit to clean your eFoil with fresh water after each use, and properly store all parts in a cool, dry environment when not in use.

How do I store my battery for long periods of inactivity?

For many of us not in tropical locations or dedicated enough for extensive wetsuit riding, your eFoil might spend more time in storage than the warmer months. Storing and caring for your eFoil battery during periods of inactivity is simple, but important, so review the information below.

Store your eFoil battery in a cool, dry location.

Allowable Storage Temperature: -10C˚ to 40C˚(14F˚ to 104F˚)

Ideal Storage Temperature: 5C˚ to 25C˚ (41F˚ to 77F˚)

How much charge should be in the battery when storing for an extended period of time?

NOTE: We consider anything over four weeks as a ‘long’ period of inactivity.

The ideal storage state is at 30-50% of battery charge. This will lead to the longest life for your battery. You can identify the level of the battery’s charge by the LED lights. A 30-50% battery charge is equivalent to 3-4 lit LEDs (out of the 8 LEDs).

As with all lithium-ion batteries, the Lift eFoil battery will slowly lose charge over time while it is stored. If stored for a long time (roughly 9 months to several years) without use, the battery can become over-discharged and lose the ability to be charged at all. To prevent this, and to ensure the longest life for your battery, the battery should be plugged into a charger and charged until reaches 30-50% every 3 months.

Do I need to perform any special procedures prior to using my battery after a long period of inactivity?

To wake up your battery after a long period of inactivity, follow normal charging instructions; there are no special changes after a long period of inactivity. Ensure you follow the correct sequence when connecting your battery to the charger and wall outlet. First connect the charging data cable, then the cam-lock, and then plug the charger into the wall. Be sure to review the User Manual for all the information on your eFoil battery maintenance, charging, storage, and safety.




Who can use a Lift eFoil?

We recommend the eFoil for persons ages 16 years and older. Larger people are capable of riding a Lift eFoil, but our factory recommendations for most of our boards are 100-250 lbs. Our Cruiser board is built to handle riders up to 275 pounds comfortably. 


How hard is it to ride an eFoil?

People who have any experience surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and/or foiling will quickly be able to master the Lift eFoil.

For those with no experience, don’t worry. It’s very easy to learn how to use the Lift eFoil. We have specifically designed a system that is easy to use and fun for all types of levels- from beginners to advanced riders.  The user manual includes a section that helps new riders from first ride to first flight. We also have a number of “how-to” videos, which help prepare you for your first ride, and provide instruction to getting up on the foil safely and easily. Check out our YouTube channel.


What happens if I run low on battery while riding the eFoil?

The hand controller will automatically throttle back to a low power setting, which preserves battery life, to help you get back to shore safely.




How many eFoil board sizes do I have to choose from?

Lift offers four board sizes. You can find more details on each size by visiting our eFoil page.


Is there a price difference between the different boards?

Yes, there is a price difference between the LIFT3 carbon fiber boards and LIFT3 F fiberglass boards. The price difference is primarily based on the material used to build the board.

There is no price difference between the various board sizes, so long as the board is made of the same material.

What does the limited warranty cover?

The manufacturer’s limited warranty covers any defects in material or workmanship under normal use during the warranty period.

During the warranty period, we’ll replace, at no extra charge, products or parts of a product that proves defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.
